Junior Shopify Developer

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Shopify Developer to support ongoing Shopify and eCommerce client projects.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in Shopify theme development, Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript who is looking to grow their skills while working on a variety of eCommerce projects.

You'll work closely with project managers, designers, and developers in a fast-moving agency environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and customize Shopify themes, sections, and templates

  • Implement responsive storefront designs from Figma

  • Support Shopify theme updates, bug fixes, and ongoing improvements

  • Work with Shopify metafields, metaobjects, and product configurations

  • Assist with Shopify app integrations and custom functionality

  • Ensure storefronts are responsive and optimized across desktop and mobile devices

  • Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure accurate implementation

  • Participate in QA, troubleshooting, and deployment workflows

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in Shopify or front-end web development

  • Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Familiarity with Shopify theme architecture and customization

  • Ability to translate Figma designs into responsive web pages

  • Understanding of responsive design and front-end development best practices

  • Familiarity with GitHub and version control

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Shopify Plus stores

  • Familiarity with Shopify metafields, metaobjects, and product architecture

  • Experience with Shopify app integrations

  • Basic understanding of Shopify APIs and custom functionality

  • Familiarity with performance optimization and Core Web Vitals

  • Experience working in an eCommerce agency environment

Availability & Location

  • Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing contract

  • Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Compensation: CAD $10–$20 per hour, depending on experience

  • Location: Remote, open to candidates worldwide

  • Timezone: Overlap with EST working hours is preferred but not required
